Spring is just around the corner, so summer softball is as well! The Eliza Softball Committee is holding registration by mail. Our registration forms are found in all four Mercer County Schools’ offices and on our Facebook page, “Eliza Softball.” Our page is a private group, so if interested, please request to join! Just download or pick up a form at the schools, fill it out, and mail in with your registration fee. Fees are $30 for the first child in your family, $25 for the second, $20 for the third, and $15 for the fourth.
Eliza Softball is a member of the Warren/Mercer County Junior Sheriff’s League, which also includes teams from Little York, Kirkwood, Keithsburg, Oquawka, and Cameron. This league is co-ed softball, with teams for ages 4 through 18. The teams Eliza offers are Pee Wees (age 4 through 2nd grade), Lightweights (3rd through 5th grade), Middleweights (6th through 8th grade), and Heavyweights (all High School). The season begins near Memorial Day and runs through June for the youngest teams, and through mid-July for the Jr. High and High School teams. The two oldest age divisions play Mondays and Wednesdays, with the younger ones playing Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Eliza Softball summer league is a laid-back, low-stress adventure! While we do love to win ball games, the focus is on learning the game and family involvement.
