Ellen Christiansen, 75 of Viola, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Genesis-Illini, Silvis. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 9, at Dennison Funeral Home, Viola. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Inurnment will be at Viola Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Viola Community Food Pantry. Ellen was born on August 30, 1948, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Ella (Robbins) Baker. She worked for the Department of Defense at Arsenal Island. She was an active member of the Viola United Methodist Church, where she loved to volunteer and ran the food pantry. Ellen also loved to do horseback riding.
Ellen is survived by her children, Randy Diehl, East Moline, IL, William (Veronica) Starcevich, Viola, and Nicole (Matt) Summers, Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Sierra (Edwin) Simental, Summer (Ben) Hutton, Cody McWade, Kenzie (Gio) Lee, and Payton Summers; great granddaughter, Annabelle Starcevich and another on the way; and sister, Pat (Tom) Noy. She was preceded in death by her parents.
