Week 3 of the high school football season got underway on Friday night as Mercer County won their conference opener over Stark County 18-0. The Golden Eagles got a passing and rushing touchdown from quarterback Rashaun King and a touchdown on the ground from Steven Speaker as well. The Rockridge Rockets led 43-0 at half and cruised to a 43-14 win over Riverdale. Riley Fetterer accounted for five more touchdowns this week, bringing his season total to 14 already. Sherrard was looking for their first win of the season but couldn’t find it, as they lost a competitive game to Peru St. Bede 24-13.
