Mercer County has lost back-to-back games to start the baseball season after a 10-0 loss to Illini West in five innings Thursday. The game was scoreless through three innings. The Chargers then scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth and five in the bottom of the fifth to win the game.
Orion came from behind to beat Rock Island 4-3 in 10 innings Thursday. The Chargers scored two runs in the seventh inning to tie the game and send it to extra innings, before scoring in the top of the 10th inning to take the lead. Drake Gunn was 3-5 with 2 RBI in the win.
