A fitness evaluation has been ordered for a Keithsburg man charged with a felony of sexual relations within families. The request was made by 46 year old Kevin Hockenberry’s attorney Monday in Mercer County Circuit Court as the defense has a bona fide doubt as to the defendant’s fitness to stand trial. The state had no objection. The Class 3 felony is in connection with an alleged incident that occurred in April of 2019. Hockenberry is also facing felony charges in two other cases including perjury and false reporting as well as two misdemeanor counts of violating an order of protection. He remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $150,000 bond. A review date will be set through the Court Administrator’s office.
