Linda Lee Richardson, 73 of Gilchrist, died Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at her family home. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, October 16, with visitation following until 3 p.m. at Marian and Howard’s Home, 943 240th St., Viola, IL, the family compound in Gilchrist. Memorials may be made to the Richardson Family. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family.
Linda was born on January 25, 1949, in Gilchrist to Orville Lee and Hazel (Kincaid) Richardson. She cared for people her whole life, starting as a CNA at Mercer County Nursing Home. Linda especially enjoying caring for her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, her honorary grandchildren. She enjoyed making mud pies with them, cooking for them, and spoiling them at Christmas time, her favorite holiday. She LOVED to play Bingo! Linda and Marlene were regulars at the American Legion, until illness took her mobility.
Family left to cherish Linda’s memory include her siblings and spouses: Delores Brown, Francis and Marlene Richardson, Fred Richardson, and Marian and Howard Jones, all of Gilchrist, and Joyce Gunsallus of Millersburg, and many, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Leona Lundeen and Carol Jean Richardson; niece: Connie Quinley; and nephews: Fred “Shorty” Richardson, Vernon Brown, and David Lee Richardson.
