The Mississippi North Central Watershed covers over one-million acres in Western Illinois. It’s been identified as a priority in the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy and will be the subject of five planning discussions with area farmers and other stakeholders, including one in Mercer County. Hannah Robinson with the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District is involved with the process.
The Mercer County planning discussion session will be Wednesday, Aug. 11 from Noon to 2 p.m. at the Mercer County Farm Bureau. Other sessions are planned for Hancock County, Knox County, Henry County and Warren County.
