High school students from the 37th Senate District recently visited the State Capitol, getting a taste of the legislative process first-hand, including two Mercer County students. Local State Senator Chuck Weaver played host to 50 high school students from west central Illinois as part of his latest youth advisory council.
Mercer County junior Lauren Morby says the process shows teens care about their state and communities.
Mercer County junior Brooke Lindell is also serving on Weaver’s Youth Advisory Council.
