The Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) on Thursday reported another 70 confirmed cases of COVID-19. This brings the county’s total to 516 cases since reporting began. The latest cases include:
2 males in their 90s
2 males in their 70s
2 males in their 60s
4 males in their 50s
4 males in their 40s
2 males in their 30s
3 males in their 20s
4 males in their teens
4 males under the age of 13
2 females in their 80s
2 females in their 70s
4 females in their 60s
7 females in their 50s
8 females in their 40s
4 females in their 30s
2 females in their 20s
6 females in their teens
8 females under the age of 13
At this time there are 121 individuals isolating at home and 5 are hospitalized. Deaths in Mercer County due to COVID-19 remain at 7. In addition, the health department has identified 297 close contacts of these individuals.
The health department says this case increase in a jurisdiction the size of Mercer County is extremely concerning. They ask the community to help slow the spread by avoiding crowds, wearing a mask when you are in public, keeping a minimum of 6 feet between you and other people, and continuing to frequently wash your hands.
