The Mercer County Golden Eagles opened up the 2018 season by winning a hotly contested game at George Pratt Memorial Field over Knoxville 32-30. Junior quarterback Rashaun King threw three touchdown passes and intercepted a pass in the end zone in the fourth quarter to seal the win for the Golden Eagles. Rockridge got four total touchdowns from quarterback Riley Fetterer to lead them to a 28-22 season opening win over Monmouth-Roseville.
