One person is dead and another injured following a motorcycle crash in lower Rock Island County. The accident happened Sunday afternoon in the 17100 block of 78th Avenue West in rural Illinois City, according to a Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department Report. The driver, 39-year-old Joseph Hazen of Illinois City died from his injuries. A passenger, 39-year-old Amber Hazen, also of Illinois City, was transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City by MedForce helicopter. The Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Andalusia Ambulance, Andalusia and Edgington Fire, and the Rock Island County Coroner’s office.
