A strong Tuesday afternoon storm does damage to power lines and knocks out power to the Joy and New Boston areas. Because of that, New Boston Elementary and Mercer County Junior High will be closed Wednesday. Students in those buildings will use Wednesday as a “remote learning review day.” All other Mercer County School District buildings will be open Wednesday for normal operations.
