The 97th Annual New Boston Fish & Chicken Fry runs Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Mayor Chris DeFrieze says it serves as a good time to show off some of the town’s riverfront improvements.
The improvements have been funded by a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources grant with a $134,000 match from the Looser-Flake Charitable Trust.
Among the highlights in New Boston this weekend—a 10 a.m. parade Saturday; fish and chicken dinners served 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; fireworks at dusk Saturday night; and the Galva/Tri-County Garden Tractor Pull at 1 p.m. Sunday.
