The Mercer County Jail is currently housing 29 U.S. Marshals Service prisoners. Sheriff Dusty Terrill says out-of-county inmate numbers have remained strong and housing revenue is expected to exceed budget projections this fiscal year.
The county receives $65 per day per federal inmate housed at the jail.
