The top two seeds advanced the championship game of the boys Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament Friday night. Top seeded Wethersfield stopped Annawan 65-50 in the first semi-final and Princeville held off Mercer County 60-50 in the other. In the consolation bracket Ridgewood beat Galva 64-58 in overtime and Rowva-Williamsfield handled United 64-49.
In the Three Rivers Conference Orion beat Sherrard 60-42 on senior night.
In girls action, Wethersfield spoiled Mercer County’s senior night with a 55-51 victory. Orion beat Morrison 69-48, Sherrard downed Rockridge 33-26 and Stark County topped Rowva 48-34.
In junior high action, Rockridge’s 7th graders advanced to state with a 31-30 win over Illini Bluffs. They will play Athens in the semi-finals this morning. In the IESA 8th Grade Regional semi-finals Rockridge beat United 46-37 and Monmouth-Roseville handled Mercer County 39-25. Those two will meet this morning in the championship game.
