For a fourth time, former Country Bank executive Dana Frye’s report date to prison has been extended. He was originally scheduled to turn himself into the Federal Bureau of Prisons back on April 13th, but that was then extended to July 13 and then to October 12 and then to January 11 and now to April 12. The 67-year-old Frye was sentenced to five years in prison last February after admitting he conspired with others to influence the failed Country Bank to make loans to projects in which he held a personal financial interest. He pleaded guilty to the charge in October of 2019 and was also ordered to pay $23.5 million in restitution. The court is recommending that Frye serve his sentence at the federal prison in Thomson, Illinois. All of Frye’s extension motions were unopposed and granted by U.S. District Judge Sara Darrow. The defense motions were based on current risks posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
