Rockridge (4-0) beat Princeton (0-4) 15-0 in four innings Tuesday for the Rockets’ 69th straight win. The win matches the IHSA record for consecutive wins in softball set by Casey-Westfield in 1997-98.
Payton Brown hit a two-run home run and a double, driving in three runs in the win. Brown now has 32 career home runs and five homers in four games this season. Kendra Lewis also went deep in the win and pitched four shutout innings. Lewis is now 40-0 for her career.
Rockridge plays Galesburg Wednesday. With a win, the Rockets would break the state record for consecutive softball wins. First pitch is at 4:30 p.m. Pre-game coverage on WRMJ starts at 4:15 p.m.
