In a match-up of two of the top pitchers in western Illinois, the Rockridge Rockets edged the Riverdale Rams 3-1 in Three Rivers Athletic Conference softball action. Kendra Lewis struck out 13 Rams giving up three hits to outduel Ashyn Hemm who struck out 15 Rockets and gave up three hits, one of them a home run by Lewis.
In baseball, Nick Basala picked up his first win as the Sherrard Tigers head coach as they topped Orion 11-7. Brennan Welch had three hits, including a home run, and four rbi to lead the Tigers offense. Will Franck got the win.
