Rockridge (12-3) won its fifth Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament championship since 2013 with a 36-33 win over Macomb (13-4) at Western Hall Saturday night.
The Rockets led 14-11 at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 26-16 at halftime.
Macomb had the ball down by three points in the final seconds but missed a three pointer as time expired.
Landon Bull led Rockridge in scoring with 13 points. Bull was named tournament MVP. He joins Ethan Happ, Bryan Heath, Gentry Whiteman, and Nate Henry as Rockridge players who were the MVP of the Macomb-Western Holiday Tournament. Carson Klemme was also selected to the all-tournament team for the Rockets.
Dion Doyle scored 16 points in the loss for the Bombers.
Beecher (16-0) held on in the fourth quarter to beat Mercer County (9-6) in the championship of the Cliff Warkins Memorial Classic in Erie Saturday, 49-42.
The game was tied 22-22 a halftime and the Bobcats led 35-32 at the end of the third quarter. Mercer County briefly held a two-point lead midway through fourth quarter, 42-40. Beecher then closed the game on a 9-2 run.
Adyn McGinley scored a game-high 22 points for the Bobcats. McGinley was named tournament MVP.
Colby Cox scored 18 points to lead Mercer County. Lucas Collison was also in double figures with 13 points for the Golden Eagles. Collison was an all-tournament selection.
