A final pre-trial conference has been set for a Viola man in custody on sexual assault charges. 43-year-old David Lee Richardson faces Class X and Class 1 felonies. The charges involve a child under the age of 13. Richardson appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Tuesday morning with an Aug. 2 pre-trial conference scheduled along with a Sept. 13 final pre-trial conference. A jury trial is set for Sept. 27. Richardson remains in custody on $200,000 bond. He was arrested on a warrant in January.
