Sherrard, Rockridge, Orion All Win Thanksgiving Tournaments

Sherrard (3-0) won a pair of games Saturday to finish the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Thanksgiving Shootout unbeaten.

The Tigers defeated Eureka (2-1), 38-32, in the first game of the day. The Hornets opened the game on a 10-0 run. Sherrard took its first lead of the game with 1.8 seconds left in the first half, 20-19, and didn’t trail the rest of the way.

Holland Anderson had 10 points to lead the Tigers in the win over Eureka.

In the second game of the day for Sherrard Saturday, the Tigers beat Quest (1-2), 76-48.

Sherrard led 32-10 at the end of the first quarter and 48-24 at halftime.

Rylan Carton led all scorers with 20 points for Sherrard. Jack Hatlestad, 14, and Holland Anderson, 10, also scored in double figures for the Tigers.

Rockridge (4-0) wrapped up play at the Geneseo Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday by beating Geneseo (1-3), 60-25.

Caleb Cunico had 15 points in the win for the Rockets. Landon Wheatley added 14 points and Landon Bull pitched in 10.

Orion (4-0) won the championship of the 10 & 32 Tip-Off Classic Saturday over Monmouth-Roseville (3-1), 55-53.

The Chargers led 52-37 midway through the fourth quarter and held on as Monmouth-Roseville closed the game on a 16-4 run.

Kyler Owens poured in 26 points for Orion. Maddux Arnold was also in double figures for the Chargers with 16.

Darrion Smith paced the Titans with 14 points in the loss.
