A Sherrard teen identified as the fatal shooting victim in a Tuesday night incident in Rock Island. Rock Island police officers responded to the 600 block of 42nd Avenue in reference to a vehicle accident with injuries. Responding officers located a two car accident scene. One of the involved vehicles had a juvenile male driver that was found to have suffered a gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance from the scene to Unity Point Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity was released Wednesday by the Rock Island County Coroner’s office. The deceased is 16 year old Dylan J. McCalester. The incident is being investigated as a homicide by the Rock Island Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
