The state recently caught up paying a local agency, then quickly fell behind again. The Mercer County Family Crisis Center was sent 12 overdue checks for Fiscal Year 2017, which ended June 30th, on the last day of August. The crisis center’s Marla Reynolds says they’ve received only one payment thus far in Fiscal Year 2018, which began on July 1.
As of last week, the state still had as much as $16-billion in unpaid bills.
