Over 60 inmates are currently being housed at the Mercer County Jail, with over 40 of those being foreign prisoners, which generate revenue for the county. But having that much population in the jail also creates some challenges says Sheriff Dusty Terrill.
Terrill updated the Mercer County Board Tuesday night. There are currently 19 local prisoners with 13 from Scott County, five from Warren County, 22 from the U.S. Marshals Service, three from Cook County and one from ICE or Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
