Sherrard (8-1) defeated Mercer County (6-5) on the road Tuesday, 50-41.
The game was tied at 20 at halftime. The Tigers never trailed in the second half and led by as many as 11 points. Sherrard was 9-12 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to ice the game and went 12-17 from the charity stripe overall.
James Blackwell and Rylan Carton each scored 13 points for the Tigers. Jack Hatlestad added 11 points in the victory.
Mercer County’s Lucas Collison led all scorers with 14 points. Colby Cox was also in double figures for the Golden Eagles with 10 points.
