Another court appearance for a Viola man charged in a 2019 child porn case. 46-year-old James Eric Haley was in Mercer County Circuit Court for a status hearing Monday morning. The matter was continued to Dec. 28. A jury trial remains on the schedule for Jan. 24.
Haley faces 16 felony counts. He was arrested in August of 2019 after Illinois State Police executed a search warrant at his residence. The 16 felony counts are in connection with allegations involving a 15-year-old girl. He has been free on a $500,000 recognizance bond since March of 2020.
