The Mercer County Jail continues with a steady stream of out of county prisoners. Sheriff Dave Staley provided an update earlier this week.
The county receives $65 per day per U.S. Marshals Service prisoner and $50 per day per Cook County inmate housed at the jail. The county is anticipating $300,000 in housing fees from the U.S. Marshals Service in Fiscal Year 2018 and over $456,000 from Cook County, which is double from FY 2017.
