Mercer County residents have an opportunity later this month to learn about the Looser-Flake Charitable Foundation and the resulting Mercer County: Better Together effort. New Boston sisters Dorothy Looser-Flake and Roberta Looser left a $6-million estate gift to enhance cultural, educational and economic development opportunities in Mercer County. $550,000 has been granted in the past three years says Kelly Thompson, administrator for the foundation.
A public education session about the foundation and Mercer County: Better Together is scheduled for Monday, July 30th at 5:30 p.m. at the Hamlet-Presbyterian Church Hall.
