Mercer County should have a new animal control facility by the end of this year. Ground was broken this morning for the approximate $200,000 project. FurEver Friends for Mercer County Animals is contributing $140,000 for the new building says the group’s vice president Jerry Bryan of Sherrard.
RKE Construction of Buffalo Prairie is the contractor the 2,100 square foot building, which is being built near the existing facility behind the Mercer County Highway Department, just west of Aledo.
