The Mercer County School District moving forward with projects at Apollo Elementary and New Boston Elementary. A $12,050,000 bid was approved Tuesday night by the Unit 404 Board of Education for upgrades to both schools. WRMJ spoke with Superintendent Scott Petrie after the meeting.
The vote was 5-to-1 for the projects—with Tab Balmer, Mark Bieri, Bill Smock, Jason Monson, and Mike Bowns voting yes. The lone no vote was from Julie Wagner. Don Yates was absent.
Also Tuesday night, Petrie confirmed that the head football coach, athletic director, and assistant principal will be split into three positions, which will all be hired next week. Andrew Hofer had held all three jobs.
