A New Windsor man remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $300,000 bond charged in two sex abuse cases. Probable cause was found at preliminary hearings this week to hold 47-year-old Matthew Walsh over for trial. In one case he is charged with a Class X felony of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two Class 2 felonies of aggravated criminal sexual abuse stemming from allegations involving a girl under the age of 13. In the other case, he’s facing two Class 2 felonies in connection with allegations involving another girl under the age of 13. Walsh has pleaded not guilty in both cases. An April 18 pre-trial has been scheduled. He was arrested earlier this month following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and New Windsor Police Department.
