$3-Million Water Project Set To Begin In Joy Next Spring

$3-million in USDA loan and grant money headed to Joy.  The announcement made this morning and the funding will be used for a significant upgrade to the town’s water treatment facilities says Joy Village President Todd Heath.

Western Illinois Congresswoman Cheri Bustos was joined by USDA staff for today’s announcement.

The USDA loan amounts to $1,530,000 with the grant totaling $1,471,400.  In addition to the federal money, the State of Illinois is also investing $450,000 for a project grand total of $3,451,400. Work should begin in the spring.
