An additional update from Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill involving a youth who died from a gunshot wound last week. In a press release Monday morning, he says “the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident with an open mind but at this time there is no evidence of foul play”. The investigation is ongoing. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting that a male juvenile was the victim of a gunshot wound last Wednesday in the Matherville area. He was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City where he died the next day.
