Martha H. Moffitt, 98 of Aledo, Illinois died Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Brookstone in Aledo. Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, October 21, at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at Fippinger’s where memorials may be left to the First Baptist Church in Aledo. She was born September 26, 1924 in Aledo, to Clyde and Edna Pollock Wood. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1942. Martha married Richard F. Moffitt September 5, 1945 in Preemption, Illinois. He died April 19, 2009.
Martie was employed as a cafeteria cook for the Aledo School District #201, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Aledo First Baptist Church and former member of the Enon Baptist Church east of Perryton, Illinois. Martie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include a son, Ronald (Sharon) Moffitt of Aledo; seven grandchildren, Jon, Stefanie, Zack, Scott, Ronda, Clint, and Melanie; 17 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Williams of Aledo; one brother, Charles Wood of Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; two sons, Steven and Rick; three sisters, Juanita, Dorothy, and Mary; and one brother, John, preceded her in death.
