A missing jet skier from Keithsburg campground found safe. The scare occurred Saturday, according to a release from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Crews from New Boston, Keithsburg, Oakville and Wapello Fire Departments, Illinois Conservation Police and Med-Force Air were involved in the Mississippi River search between Keithsburg and New Boston, which was called off due to darkness. Around 11 p.m., the missing jet skier returned to the campground and told authorities he had gotten stuck in mud in shallow backwaters.
