Moline (7-1, 2-1 Western Big 6) led wire-to-wire in a 60-53 win over Rockridge (7-1, 3-0 TRAC West) at Wharton Field House Tuesday.
The Maroons opened the game on an 11-0 run and led 16-4 at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 33-19 at halftime. Trey Taylor knocked down a three-pointer early in the third to put Moline up 36-19. Rockridge responded with a 17-7 run to close the third quarter and make it a 43-36 game heading into the fourth. The Rockets cut the deficit to four in the fourth quarter, but that was the closest the game would get.
Rockridge’s Carson Klemme led all scorers with 19 points. TJ Wilson, 13, and Caleb Cunico, 12, also scored in double figures for the Rockets.
Braden Freeman paced Moline with 18 points. Taylor finished with 14 points and Vinny Adjahoungbeta added 12 points for the Maroons.
