Rockridge (7-0, 3-0 TRAC West) defeated Sherrard (5-1, 1-1 TRAC West) in a battle of unbeatens in Edgington Friday, 47-31.
The Tigers took a 9-8 lead early in the second quarter. The Rockets responded by closing the first half on a 19-5 run to take a 27-14 advantage at halftime. Rockridge held Sherrard to just four points in the third quarter and led 35-18 heading into the fourth quarter.
Landon Bull was the game’s leading scorer for Rockridge with 15 points. TJ Wilson, 12, and Carson Klemme, 10, also scored in double figures for the Rockets.
Rylan Carton paced the Tigers with nine points.
Rockridge takes on the defending 4A state champion Moline Maroons (6-1, 2-1 Western Big 6) Tuesday at Wharton Field House.
Sherrard hosts Alleman (2-6, 1-2 Western Big 6) Tuesday.
