The Mercer County School Board will meet in special session this week to accept a bid for a classroom addition at Mercer County Intermediate School. The meeting is Tuesday night at 5 p.m. at the Intermediate School. The plans call for five new classrooms with the facility housing 6-through-8 graders beginning in the fall of 2022. 5th graders will be relocated to the New Boston and Apollo buildings.
The district is paying for the addition without requiring any revenue bonds.
The school board is still in the process of evaluating future facility needs and one of the ideas under consideration is building a new centralized kindergarten through fifth grade school in Joy.
