A Seaton man will spend six years in prison after pleading guilty to a predatory criminal sexual assault of a child charge. The Class X felony was filed against 45-year-old Frank Wheeler last September following an investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. They were responding to a child abuse report.
Wheeler pleaded guilty to the offense earlier this month in Mercer County Circuit Court. The victim in the case was a 12-year-old youth. Wheeler must serve 85-percent of his sentence and will have to register as a sex offender for life.
